Open ground in warm, dry habitats.
Diurnal ground-running predator.
Predatory on small arthropods.
The pale elytral markings divide into forked branches, the feature reflected by furcata — forked — and an effective outline breaker on gravelly ground.
Its large eyes and long legs place sensory detection and acceleration at opposite ends of a lightweight body built for pursuit.
When motion stops, the broken pattern interrupts the continuous outline that made the beetle obvious during a sprint, creating an abrupt switch from visibility to camouflage.
