Small animals are often overlooked not because they lack beauty, but because we rarely see them clearly.
Insects and arachnids live around us in almost unimaginable variety. Their bodies contain armour, colour, hairs, eyes, jaws and structures that are often too small for the unaided eye to appreciate.
For more than a decade, I have photographed this hidden world through fieldwork, museum collections and carefully prepared specimens. Each finished image may combine dozens or hundreds of individual photographs, revealing an animal with a clarity that could never be captured in a single exposure.
The aim is not simply to make small creatures appear larger. It is to give them presence—to show each animal as an individual, and to reveal the extraordinary diversity that exists beneath our feet and all around us.
