Around the World in 121 Ants
Seven years. 121 ant species. One extraordinary fine art record of the hidden diversity, architecture and beauty of the ant world.
This is not a small poster about small animals. It is a large-format visual archive of one of the most successful groups of creatures on Earth.
121 species arranged as a large-format visual archive of ant diversity.
A global record of ants, built one specimen at a time.
Seven years ago, I set out to capture the astonishing world of ants through my lens. This poster is one of the clearest milestones of that journey.
More than an image — a visual archive.
Around the World in 121 Ants brings together species from across the world, photographed and arranged to show the range of forms ants can take.
The work represents thousands of hours of observation, careful specimen preparation, meticulous focus stacking and a long fascination with these remarkable animals.
From intricate anatomy to complex social structures, ants reveal themselves here as true marvels of the natural world.
